Reiki FAQs

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Is Reiki Religious?
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

What Should I Wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that you can relax in (you will be clothed the entire time). If you’re coming from the office, feel free to bring a change of clothes and you can change at my house. I recommend dressing in layers so you can add or remove clothing during the session, if needed, since moving energy can impact your body temperature, making you feel hot or cold.

How Often Should I Get Reiki Treatment?
Sometimes one Reiki session is enough to resolve whatever energy blockages you have, and sometimes it takes several sessions. I believe you should let your body tell you when you need to book another session - it can be weeks later, months later, or years! I'll be here when you're ready!

Is it against my Christian religion to receive Reiki?
I personally depend on my Christian upbringing while I receive and perform reiki, but if you prefer to connect with your spirit guides, mother Earth, or another positive and welcoming life force energy, they are absolutely welcome in your healing journey.

Where does the Reiki take place?
I have a cute little healing room in my home full of crystals, calming smells, and good vibes! I can take my table anywhere, though, so I can come to you if you’d feel more comfortable. I am also certified in distance reiki. Let’s chat about it!

I have already received a free reiki session, can I have another?
Yes of course, but this time and until I feel comfortable charging for my services, I’d like to ask for what we call an “energy trade.” This could be something as simple as bringing me a coffee or a small gift card to a homemade item to something for my reiki practice. I love crystals and nag champa incense (Sprit Dreams in EGR is a fun spot to explore or there are tons of great items on Etsy!)
The purpose is to facilitate a trade of energies so that we are balanced and you do not feel indebted to me for my services. -
Do you accept tips?
If you truly feel inclined to offer me a tip, my venmo is @rebecca-cranmer. All of the money received for reiki services (including tips) until 2026 will be saved for the launch of my sisterhood retreats!

I don't want you to know about my private life. Can I still receive reiki?
Yes! I will only see what you and your guardian angels/spirit guides want me to see and what is important for me to know to help you heal. There is no need for me to know anything more and if you are closing off your energy to begin with, it will be nearly impossible for me to connect.
As an added measure, I can “turn off” my intuitive gifts and only focus on giving you reiki. -
What else can I add on to my service?
Celluma Red Light Therapy, Tarot Card Pull, Oracle Card Pull, Sage energy cleansing, Q&A and consulting - all free
